Laura Geeroms

Biography

Laura Geeroms (2000) is a PhD researcher at the Financial Law Institute of Ghent University.

She obtained a Master of Laws (magna cum laude) from Ghent University in 2023. Prior to joining the Institute in August 2024, she worked as a junior attorney at Eubelius.

Laura is currently preparing a PhD dissertation on sustainable finance under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Reinhard Steennot and Prof. Dr. Michel Tison. Her research examines whether strict compliance by financial institutions with the EU sustainable finance framework – when offering and promoting sustainable financial products – effectively enables retail investors to make well-informed decisions, free from the risk of greenwashing.
