Laura Maes

Biography

Laura Maes (1994) is a PhD candidate within the Interdisciplinary Study of Law, Private Law and Business Law and the Financial Law Institute at Ghent University. She started as an academic assistant in October 2019 and received a scholarship from the Special Research Fund of Ghent University (BOF) in January 2020 to prepare a PhD dissertation on the regulation of securities trading platforms in the EU in light of MiFID II and the emergence of Financial Market Infrastructure Groups. Prof. Dr. Hans De Wulf and Prof. Dr. Diederik Bruloot supervise her PhD research.

She obtained her master’s degree in Law at Ghent University in July 2019, and then joined the Financial Law Institute.
