      Diederik Bruloot

      Biography


      Diederik Bruloot is a professor at the Law School of Ghent University. He teaches several courses on business law as well as a course on international economic law. His current research focusses on corporate insolvency law. During the last years he published on a broad range of topics within the fields of company law, insolvency law and financial regulation.

      Diederik obtained his law degree at Ghent University in July 2005 (summa cum laude) and joined the Financial Law Institute as a research assistant afterwards. In June 2012 he successfully defended his PhD thesis regarding creditor protection in European company law (Vennootschapskapitaal en schuldeisers, Antwerp-Cambridge, Intersentia, 2014, 824 p.).

      He is a member of the Financial Law Institute (2005), of the Belgian National Centre for Company Law (2014), of the Interuniversity Centre for Consumer Law (2014) and of the Ghent Rolin-Jaequemyns International Law Institute (2015). Furthermore, he is member of the editorial boards of the law journals Tijdschrift voor insolventie- en beslagrecht (TIBR), Tijdschrift voor rechtspersoon en vennootschap – Revue pratique des sociétés (TRV-RPS) and Nieuw juridisch weekblad (NjW).

      Diederik is director of Gandaius Academy, the Centre for Lifelong Learning of the Law Faculty, and works as a practicing lawyer for the financial services practice of an international law firm.
